Posted: 11/08/2003 7:01:35 I think a list style of none would work OK. Then Font, Para and List could all be handled the same way. As for MS Word, it only removes the paragraph list if you use the formatting toolbar to toggle the state (Numbering On or Numbering Off) and it only changes the selected paragraph. If you use the "Format | Styles" menu to display the named styles dialog and modify a named style (say Heading 1) that has a paragraph list style (say Numbering) then I don't think Word removes the list style from any paragraph in the document that has that named style applied (not just the selected paragraph).
